Mercy & Grace
There are three words that came together at Calvary:
Justice
Mercy
Grace
Justice is getting what we deserve. Mercy is not getting what we deserve. Grace is getting what we don't deserve.
But wait a minute; grace is more than that! It is grace that gives at great cost to the giver. It is not cheap. Grace cost the life of God's Son. Jesus gave freely of Himself in agony and blood. Jesus died so that the veil that separates us from God could be torn, which it was when Jesus took His last breath at Calvary’s Cross. Jesus showed mercy & compassion and He has instructed us to show mercy. Shouldn’t we also accept mercy from those He has instructed to show mercy? Here are a few scriptures that speak of the things that we must do for God and others, because these are the things that God does for all of us!
Exodus 33:19 And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show mercy on whom I will show mercy.
Isaiah 30:18 And therefore will the LORD wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the LORD is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him.
Here is how to stay aware of God’s mercy and grace! Every day when you wake up, pray for the following;
1. Thank the Lord for keeping you alive to this moment
2. Praise God because his mercies endure forever.
3. Mighty God, have mercy upon me and forgive all my sins
4. Dear Lord, you are rich in mercy, show your love to me today in the name of Jesus
5. Father, show me your favor in the name of Jesus
6. Oh Lord, let goodness and favor follow me in all that do in the name of Jesus
7. Show someone mercy today, and forgive someone you do NOT want to forgive, then your heavenly Father will smile upon your life for that act of LOVE! Be blessed and be about your Father’s business!
