Mercy & Grace

Mercy & Grace

There are three words that came together at Calvary:

Justice
Mercy
Grace

Justice is getting what we deserve. Mercy is not getting what we deserve. Grace is getting what we don't deserve.
But wait a minute; grace is more than that! It is grace that gives at great cost to the giver. It is not cheap. Grace cost the life of God's Son. Jesus gave freely of Himself in agony and blood. Jesus died so that the veil that separates us from God could be torn, which it was when Jesus took His last breath at Calvary’s Cross. Jesus showed mercy & compassion and He has instructed us to show mercy. Shouldn’t we also accept mercy from those He has instructed to show mercy? Here are a few scriptures that speak of the things that we must do for God and others, because these are the things that God does for all of us!

Exodus 33:19 And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show mercy on whom I will show mercy.

Isaiah 30:18 And therefore will the LORD wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the LORD is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him.

Here is how to stay aware of God’s mercy and grace! Every day when you wake up, pray for the following;

1. Thank the Lord for keeping you alive to this moment
2. Praise God because his mercies endure forever.
3. Mighty God, have mercy upon me and forgive all my sins
4. Dear Lord, you are rich in mercy, show your love to me today in the name of Jesus
5. Father, show me your favor in the name of Jesus
6. Oh Lord, let goodness and favor follow me in all that do in the name of Jesus
7. Show someone mercy today, and forgive someone you do NOT want to forgive, then your heavenly Father will smile upon your life for that act of LOVE! Be blessed and be about your Father’s business!

"Give"

October 14, 2010

We often hear from churches, TV evangelist or ministries to give. Whatever the motive behind the asking to give only God truly knows, but do we give? Do we ever give? God wants us to give out of a cheerful heart. Do you find yourself with always counting what you have or being frugal in what you do have? If so based in God's word this isn't His will for you. God wants us all to come to a place as stated in Acts 20:35; "It is more blessed to give than to receive". He wants us as spoken wonderfully in Romans 12:8; "Let him give generously". Even if you don't believe in God, His Son nor His word you can make a choice to be an generous giver. There is someone right now if you take a moment and think that you can bless by helping him or her with a need that they need and you have more than enough of. Tomorrow isn't promised to any of us, so why not give and help someone out today that needs your help? If you are someone reading this that is in need, please pray and stand on God's promise found in Matthew 7:7; "Ask and it will be given to you". God promises to provide all of our needs according to Philippians 4:19; "And my God will meet ALL your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus". It is the law of the harvest, we reap what we sow, or as the world says; what goes around comes around. Do you have plenty or not enough? If you have plenty pray about giving to someone to supply their need and if you don't have enough then you must decide to give more. God will recognize the little you have that you give away, just like the women in the Bible that gave everything she had and later on was blessed beyond anything she could of imagine. Remember some of these key verses when you are in need or when you have an overflow. Proverbs 21:26; "The righteous give without sparing", Luke 6:38; "Give and it will be given to you; 2Corinthians 8:7; "But just as you excel in everything-in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in your love for us- see that you also excel in the grace of giving".

It isn't normal to give when you barely have enough for yourself, but God knows your needs and we are to give out of our need as anyone can give our of their abundance. God gives strength to the weary, Isaiah 40:29 and to each of us grace has been given Ephesians 4:7.

I share this only because God has lead me too, yesterday an inmate sent Pink Love Ministries a donation. I'm sharing this as an example of that she gave out of her "need" and not out of her abundance and for that God is very happy; as well as us overjoyed. Not by the size of the gift whether small or large but the act of faith and love she showed this ministry in actions of love and in truth. Today I ask you to search your heart and whether you pray to God or not spread the joy of giving even if it means making your bunky's bed or buying them a treat. If you are in the free world, after you pay for your meal in the drive through at McDonalds pay for the car's order behind you and tell the cashier you want to bless the car behind you by paying for their order. When we come together we can show love through our actions even doing something in secret that means the world to someone else. God says what is done in secret good or bad will be shine like the noon dawn day.

Start giving TODAY and sit back and watch your tomorrow's turn into pure joy and your locker, or your household always full lacking for nothing. Don't give to get, as God always weighs the motives of each of us. God loves a cheerful giver.
